Butter Takes to the Big Screen!
Ashley Greene from Twilight joins the cast of the new film Butter.
Butter is great on toast and even better on a bagel, but now it is about to hit the big screen...

British director Jim Field Smith takes on a whole new challenge in his latest project, Butter. In his own words the film is simply about “...butter carving in the Midwest, believe it or not.”

The basic plot surrounds the wife of a butter-carving champion who takes over when he is forced to step down. She shrewdly takes a 12 year old ‘butter prodigy’ under her wing in an attempt to win… add in a rebellious teenager, some healthy competition and a little butter and you have a sure-fire recipe for entertainment.

Jennifer Garner plays the power-hungry wife in her first attempt at both starring and producing and apparently she just “can’t wait to start churning.” Ashley Greene, better known for her role as the vampire Alice in the Twilight movie series, is also on board as well as up and coming comedian Rob Corddry.

The whole film is actually supposed to be a political satire – each character represents a political figure, but with butter instead of ballots. But if politics isn’t your thing, the $10 million budget promises to deliver some butter carvings of epic proportions.

And as if the butter alone wasn’t reason enough to pre-book tickets, rumours hint at the involvement of Jim Carrey and Kate Hudson along with cameos from Sean Penn and Angelina Jolie…
