A simple twist on a christmas classic! Image by mauriziopani
Christmas is best spent with loved ones, but so often a huge chunk of the day is spent in the kitchen tending to the turkey, which is why we love Sonya Kidney's deliciously quick, alternative Christmas lunch.
Sonya Kidney’s delicious twist on the traditional Christmas meal, as featured on the Guardian.co.uk, can be cooked in under an hour, leaving the rest of the day free for digestion and relaxation!
Sonya starts with creamed cauliflower, sweating an onion in softened butter to create a creamy puree. And rather than a traditional turkey, her alternative meal is based around venison in red wine sauce. The meat is sealed with butter and olive oil before roasting to maximise the taste.
The venison is teamed with roasted sprouts and bacon, and crispy Parisienne potatoes fried in butter.
