Celebrate National Potato Day!
All hail the mighty potato!
Today is the official day to honour and appreciate the humble spud, which in its many varieties, is a match made in heaven with real butter.

The average Brit eats a sackload of potatoes (103kg / 500 medium sized potatoes every year) and today of all days we want to help you to really savour their flavour by sharing a recipe from the Friend of Butter and TV chef, Alan Coxon, who is currently touring the UK in support of the spud.

Here is Alan’s award-winning, butter rich British Lamb and Potato Pie recipe, which was named ‘The Best Potato Recipe In The World 2008’ and you can actually win a pie handmade by Alan at the upcoming Potato Weekend in Twyford, Reading.
