Most of us first to learnt to bake with our mothers and let’s face it, you’re never going to be as good, so we’ve made things easy for you.
Here are ten easy-bake cake recipes featured on UKTV Food, from banana or chocolate to traditional Victoria sponge, which only leaves you with the difficult decision of which one to make!
And if that’s too much of a challenge, no one said we couldn’t cheat just a little bit! (Mum’s the word!)
A great idea from GoodtoKnow.co.uk is to buy some ready-made fairy cakes and then do the decorating yourself. Not only is this loads of fun, it looks incredibly impressive too. All you need to do is make some simple icing with butter, icing sugar, and vanilla extract, which you add to your fairy cakes.
Then using some ready-to-roll icing cut out any shape you like – flowers, love hearts, whatever you like! Then simply press your shapes down onto the iced fairy cakes to make a beautiful individually designed cupcake you mum will love! If you really want to impress, you could even cut out shapes in a variety of sizes and layer them to create a 3D effect!
