The Death of the Diet: Eat Butter, Sip Cocktails and Nibble Chocolate!
Friends of butter, chocolate and cocktails!
Daily Mail columnist Liz Jones has revealed that we really should indulge in all the things we think we shouldn't!

Liz informs us of the new celeb diet, created by registered dietitian and certified nutritionist Esther Blum, which urges women to ‘forget fasts and ditch the detox’. Hooray!

Blum says the dieting industry has got it wrong and that we need the foods that have previously been deemed ‘bad and naughty’ for nutrition and to regulate our moods and prevent depression. She also claims that fat-free foods can actually make us fat and recommends to eat an ounce of dark chocolate every day, and to simply have butter when we feel like having butter.

The bottom line in this article is that we need the ‘Fabulous fats’ found in dairy, grapeseed, olive oil, nuts and seeds, and we should avoid the ‘Frankenfats’ found in low-fat, low-cholesterol spreads and margarines, because the structure of margarine is not found in nature, so the body has a hard job breaking it down, which can lead to headaches, joint aches and a host of other problems.

  2. Good sense at last! If butter wasn't good for you, it would not taste so delicious! You remember a good meal but whoever remembers a good diet? We only have one life, so let's enjoy one of nature's pleasures - the goodness of butter to tantalise our palates in so many different recipes.

  3. I agree entirely with Liz Jones comment. I have made a decision not to be "nannied" any more. My husband has enjoyed butter for many years. I am now determined to enjoy butter for myself.

  5. first butter is bad eat margarine. Now margarine is bad eat butter Eggs are bad for you now they are good. Experts? They can prove anbything they set out to prove. I would rather die of living and eating things I enjoy than exist on taking in things I don't. My grannies lived well into their eighties and they ate all sorts of "bad" things. I intend to eat moderately on all. Many thanks
